In preparation for Father’s Day this year, I pored over Pinterest looking for a craft my 2-year-old could do for her daddy. Most of the crafts I found would’ve involved me doing the lion’s share of the artwork, so I was thrilled to find this one that my daughter could make a real contribution to AND still have the end result look pretty nice.
Materials:
- Canvas
- Painter’s Tape, masking tape, washi tape, or any other tape that will peel off canvas without leaving residue
- Scissors to cut tape
- Age appropriate painting supplies
Instructions:
- Use the tape to create a Father’s Day message on the canvas. With a young toddler this part will be up to you. An older child may be able to do this on thier own.
- Set your child up with paints and instruct them to cover the canvas in whatever way they like. I put my two-year-old in an empty bath tub with finger paints and let her go crazy, but this could be done with any kind of paint.
- Let the paint dry.
- Peel the tape of the canvas to reveal the message for Dad.
