PRESS RELEASE 05/16/2019

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? It’s the San Bruno Parents Club!

We all know parents are superheros. To celebrate this, and this year’s theme of ‘Superheroes for Diversity,’ the San Bruno Mothers Club has chosen The 79th Annual Posy Parade as the perfect community moment to launch its new name: San Bruno Parents Club (SBPC).

SBPC was founded as a mothers club in 1991, to provide an inclusive and diverse support system for all San Bruno families. Now the name has been changed to reflect these long- held values. Club President, Barbie Levasseur, said, “We felt this was an important moment in the Club’s history, as we approach our 30th anniversary, to more equally acknowledge our amazing parenting community by changing our name to better represent the club we are today.”

SBPC is well known in the broader community for supporting parents. It hosts weekly playgroups, show-stopping family parties and parents’ nights out, as well as providing practical support such as childcare information, parenting seminars, discounts and local collaborations. New to the club’s resources this year is the SBPC Babysitting Co-op.

The SBPC will be participating in the 79th Annual San Bruno Lion’s Club Posy Parade, 11am Sunday June 2nd along San Mateo Avenue. Look out for their float and show them some support.
